Here is a quote which is very important from our view point and it it was mentioned by Vinobaji during his discussion with R. K. (Ram Krishna) Patil, the member of the first Planning Commission. He was specially sent by Pandit... Jawaharlal Nehru to Vinobaji to discuss the First Plan prepared by the Planning Commission of that time. You remember, he (Vinobaji) had severely criticized the Plan and had said that a plan that does not give work and food to every citizen of the country should be consigned to waste paper basket. When Nehru came to know this remark, he invited Vinobaji to come to Delhi and have detailed discussions with Planning Commission. You know the whole story, I am sure.
Here is the quote:

विनोबा: आपकी पूरी योजनामे यह बात कहीं भी नहीं कि हरएक को काम और भोजन मिलेगा ही. संविधान में आप ने वह बात (तत्व) मान्य राखी है, लेकिन योजनामे वैसी प्रतिज्ञा नहीं है. ........
Vinobaji further says:
"इन लोगों को आर्मी चाहिए. लार्ज स्केल इंडस्ट्रीज चाहिए. यह सब गृहीत रख कर यह योजना बनाई गई है. और फिर कहते हैं कि सब को काम देना ना-मुमकिन है. मै कहता हूँ कि पहले मै सब को काम दूंगा, पूरी योजना उसी दृष्टि से तयार करूंगा. लोक कहेंगे, यह रीत अच्छी नहीं, रद्दी है, जंगली है. मुझे मान्य है. मेरी रीति रद्दी है, जंगली है; लेकिन आज इसी रीति से हम सब को जिला सकेंगे. आज हमें जीने तो दो, फिर आगे हम हमारी योजनामें सुधार कर सकेंगे. अभी अभी मै सारा तेलंगाना घूम के आया हूँ. अहिंसा पर मेरी श्रद्धा (विश्वास) होने से मै मेरा काम करते रहा. लेकिन यदि वैसा नहीं होता तो आपको मै कम्युनिस्टों में दाखिल हुआ दीखता. ऐसी स्थिति वहां है. ............"
